German Halberd

Our 16th century German Halberd has a distinctively evolutionary form with heavy medial ridged leaf shaped spear point surmounting the slightly concave edged axe blade and angled back spike. Tapered rectangular socket with long cheek straps. The rectangular section wood haft is optional. The axe head, being hand forged, still retains some of the hammer marks. Halberds of this form were used against mounted troops as the body armor of the period was increasing in weight. Functional Axe Head is hand forged from steel, wooden pole available (assembly required). Approximately 99'' Overall length.
