This Medieval Heater shield is built from Poplar wood and reinforced with a overlaid linen binding that has been hand-painted. The back of the shield has a set of riveted leather straps for wearing it on the arm - it also has a longer strap for wearing the shield over the shoulder. The shield is finished with a padded leather pad to cushion the arm against impact.
